Guardian Hills Ribbon Cutting

FRIDAY, May 17 @ 4:00 PM

Guardian Hills Ribbon Cutting in conjunction with the Kirksville Area Chamber of Commerce. Tours will be available with soft drinks and light refreshments.

Veterans United Volunteers' Work Day

Board member Ryan Bell organized a group of ten Veterans United volunteers for a work day at the newly-constructed Guardian Hills’ site. 
This hardworking crew laid landscaping stones in front of each cabin.  In addition, they moved scrap metal to storage and gathered debris near the Dining Barn. 
 
The time and effort they spent readying Guardian Hills for its upcoming Ribbon Cutting Celebration is truly appreciated!  

Local Artist Creates Beloved Pet Portraits for Donation to Guardian Hills

Columbia artist Ellie Keeney is offering to create watercolor pet portraits for a donation to Guardian Hills.

Ellie captures endearing likenesses of your favorite dogs or cats from photos. Ellie’s portraits have been well-
received by many throughout Columbia.

Ellie, the mother of two Air Force veterans, is thrilled to share her artistic
gift with others in support of our military community.

First Annual Banquet & Auction Fundraiser

Guardian Hills First Annual Banquet at The Club At Old Hawthorne in Columbia, Missouri! 3 course meal, live music and auction to help support our mission in serving Veterans.

Board Retreat

November 3 - 6, 2023 in Shibleys Point, MO

Members of the Guardian Hills Veterans Healing Center Board of Directors participated in the first onsite event on the soon to be completed campus and adjoining properties. This was held in conjunction with the Annual Board Meeting. Members experienced various components of the Retreat curriculum, including HIGH Equine programs, archery, genogram development, creative expression, Tai Chi and evening fireside after action discussions. Numerous volunteers contributed to the successful retreat.
 

High Therapy Training

October 9 - 11, 2023 in Kirksville, MO

HIGH’s mission is to inspire a profound understanding, healing connection and appreciation of the strengths and gifts that come through meaningful partnerships with horses. HIGH helps lessen the impact of mental health issues such as post-traumatic stress disorder, anxiety, and depression and increases the benefits of Post Traumatic Growth.

Tee It Up

GHVHC Board members Dan Slawski, Jo Slawski, John Glenn and David Connell at the First Annual Tee It Up for the Troops Mid Mo Golf Outing on June 19, 2023 at the Club at Old Hawthorne in Columbia, MO. GHVHC was one of three veteran service organizations chosen to be beneficiaries of the event.
