Post Traumatic Stress is a complex reaction to complex circumstances and an all too common result of service. Guardian Hills is developing week long residential programs specific to individual needs which focus on addressing both causative and underlying factors. Participants will be in groups from 6 to 16, depending on whether the program is designed for individuals, couples or families. The curriculum will be based on proven effective models which have been developed by veterans and professionals who have been at the forefront of PTS care. Activities will include both group and individual sessions with emphasis on experiential and interactive modules, most of which take advantage of the the natural beauty of the campus setting. Involvement does not end at the week’s conclusion. Post-retreat planning will include assistance in arranging the appropriate level of individual ongoing local support for the return home. Our team will be routinely following up with participants for at least 18 months and longer if appropriate. Active involvement by participants is crucial and an essential component to successful outcomes. Current plans are for pilot programming to begin Summer 2023.
