About Penny

My name is Penny Kittle; I am the Equine Coordinator for Guardian Hills Veterans Healing Center. My husband and I live near GH on his family farm where we raise cattle and horses. We have 4 adult children, 2 granddaughters, 3 dogs and 9 horses. I have over 35 years’ experience working with horses in all capacities. I grew up on horses, doing ranch work with my dad and showing on a local level. As an adult I have trained and shown on a professional level, volunteered as a county-wide 4-H project leader, and taught lessons. I work with horses daily on the farm and in the arena. My job duties at Guardian Hills include providing horses, staff and equipment needed for psychotherapy programming, managing the equine facility, training equine staff, and working with horses to ensure participant and staff safety. I have a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture Science from Truman State University and a master’s degree in Youth Development. My favorite part of working at GH is getting to know the participants as they come through the program and getting to share my passion for horses.
