C. Christopher Lozano, JD, LtCol, USMC(ret)
Chris Lozano is a trial attorney, decorated combat veteran, executive, and entrepreneur who can create vision while translating it to bold and effective action. He earned a B.A in History from Saint Louis University and his J.D. at Washington University in St Louis School of Law. He began his legal career first as a Marine Judge Advocate General prosecuting federal crimes as a trial counsel and Special Assistant U.S. Attorney. In private practice, he built a successful general practice firm that led him to become VP General Counsel of a technology corporation. Presently, Chris maintains a small practice of indigent clients as a Special Public Defender for the State of Missouri.
As a U. S. Marine Corps officer, Chris served on both active and reserve status as a combat engineer. He was recalled to active duty immediately after 9/11 and participated in extensive mine-clearing operations in Afghanistan in 2002. In 2002-2003, he helped plan and conduct the invasion of Iraq. In 2006-2007, during “the surge”, he returned to Iraq as a military advisor to the Navy Seabees. For his combat efforts, Chris was awarded the Bronze Star Medal, Presidential Unit Citation and Joint Commendation Medal. He retired in 2009 as a Lieutenant Colonel.
As an entrepreneur, Chris has helped raise money for numerous independent start-ups, done M & A work and developed his own start-up. He is well known in St Louis technology circles for his work within that community. In addition, along with co-sponsor Monsanto, he founded The Emerging Tech Forum.
Chris and his wife Nancy have been married for over 36 years and have seven children. His greatest passion beyond faith and family is addressing the needs of veterans’ mental health needs. He has worked extensively with returning Marine combat veterans in the St Louis area. In addition, Chris spends time volunteering at homeless kitchens and performing in the Midwest as a singer-songwriter.
